Each poem is paired with artwork contributed by members of the Prescott family. These pieces visually illuminate the uncertainty that prevails when a loved one braves a devastating illness.

Cecy’s cousin-in-law, Maine
Susan lived in Manhattan from 1953-1965 where she took a class at The Art Student’s League. She moved to Maine in ’65 and to Portland in 1988 where after taking night courses at Maine College of Art, she settled on Fiber Art. She has had two solo exhibits and eight group exhibits, among them June Fitzpatrick Gallery in Portland and The Farnsworth Museum in Rockland. She has a daughter in Atlanta, a stepson in Colorado and five cats at home.
Cecy’s son, Maine
Tom studied fine arts at Middlebury College. He lives in Maine with his wife and three kids, works for L.L.Bean and draws when he can. Tom mainly works with pastels these days, but aims to get back to painting with oils in the future. He also enjoys ceramics and photography, but mostly just loves being a dad. For the record, Tom is very proud of his sister’s efforts with this book.
Rosanne Prescott MacPherson
Cecy’s sister-in-law, Maine
Since childhood, art has been Rosanne’s number one interest. Between the ages of 20-21, she studied at the Phoenix School of Design in New York City. She graduated from the Portland School of Art, now the Maine College of Art, in her 60th year. Rosanne, her husband David, and their two dogs, live half the year in Harpswell, Maine, and the other half in France. Rosanne is Anne Gresinger ’s mother.
Cecy’s neice, Maine
Anne has studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art, the Portland School of Art, and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and has exhibited work in Maine, New York, and Maryland. She’s currently pursuing an interest in both poetry and prose, and plans to bring her painting and words together in the near future. Currently, Anne is raising her two boys with her husband, two dogs and two cats in Maine. Anne is Rosanne Prescott MacPherson’s daughter.
